Rain Storm In Karachi
After the years of drought in Karachi, the city became thirsty for the rain. In 2019, the thirst has been quenched by raining in the city of lights. Continuous rain for a week in the month of august reduces the temperature in Karachi. But raining after the years of drought became a problem for the citizens. The huge amount of water standing in the streets, low-speed roads and tremendous traffic jam in the streets have become unwelcomed trouble for the poor people of Karachi.
Major incidents have happened during the rainstorm in Karachi. People have been killed due to electrocution in several areas of Karachi because of the irresponsibility of K-Electric in Karachi. Many young people perished because of the reckless attitude of the k-Electric administration and the government whereas, floating and detached electric wires are still a menace for the people. Many people spoke against this grievous act of k-electric who didn’t have fixed those floating electric wires yet. A first information report(FIR) has been registered against K-Electric. The case was filed over the death of 30-year-old Saad Ahmed who died on July 29 in Paposh Nagar neighborhood of North Nazimabad due to electrocution.
Extensive load shedding in the several areas of the city demolished the city life and affects the economy as well. The Internet gets disconnected in many areas and the corporate market got affected the most. People walks out early from the offices due to weather conditions.
On the other hand, people enjoyed the rain a lot by eating fried food and visiting the seaside in Karachi. People got contented by seeing the rain after the years of drought. Some people spent time with their friends and family whereas, some spent their evenings alone with a cup of tea. However, the rain was needed to keep the city alive but Karachi wasn’t prepared enough for the rainstorm.
